Robert York began his musical career at age 14 and over the decades has performed for a wide range of audiences throughout the West Coast of the United States, and in Europe.
His early training began with Sr. Myrtle Edmondson in Portland, Oregon. Going on to earn his Master’s degree with David York of Long Beach years later, Mr. York continued his studies of literature and improvisation with Sophie-Véronique Choplin, and with Françoise Levechin at the Paris Conservatory in France.
Mr. York made his European concert debut in Poland in 2009, and his Paris, France debut at the historic Church of Saint-Sulpice in 2011, and in Belgium in 2016.
Mr. York has performed for a variety of notables, including President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan; celebrities such as Bob Hope, Richard Gere, Cindy Crawford, Red Buttons, Phyllis Diller, Connie Stevens, Woody Harrelson, Gina Lollobrigida, Patti LaBelle, Michael Feinstein, Steve Allen, Tippi Hedren and the rock band, Anthrax - just to name a few. He has had the pleasure of performing with Shirley Jones, Ruta Lee, jazz legend Ronny Whyte, and with Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr of The 5th Dimension.
Recently Mr. York has been in demand as one of the few organists expert in improvising silent film scores. He is featured regularly at the iconic Old Town Music Hall in El Segundo, at the historic Mission Inn in Riverside, and throughout Southern California.
