About Magdalena
Magdalena supports talented and dedicated makers who share her mission to create joy.
Whether managing the complex details, budgets, and dynamics of a nationally celebrated organization, or stage managing local live events, Magdalena's unique blend of nurturing and confident leadership brings peace of mind and calm to those around her. She specializes in developing efficient systems to keep up with the modern world, with focused attention on the nourishment of creativity.
Her roles have included serving as Orchestra Personnel Manager for the San Diego Symphony, General Manager of Mainly Mozart, and Executive Director of California Ballet Company. More recently, she co-founded Golden State Ballet Foundation and led as its Executive Director from its infancy, quickly establishing it as a beloved arts organization in town. Magdalena graduated from the high school program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she studied violin performance. She then earned a BM in Music Business and a BM in Violin Performance from the University of Houston, and from Southern Methodist University she earned an MA in Arts Administration and an MBA with a concentration in Information Technology and Operations Management. She lives in San Diego with her husband, three children, and Minnie, a tuxedo cat. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, sewing, running, and volunteering for the San Diego River Park Foundation.
